UNESCO stands for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. In 1972 they signed a declaration to protect all cultural monuments and nature in the world. Since then there are around 900 places in more than 145 countries.

Making lists is a hobby of mine so in that way I’m connected to the organization behind UNESCO. Here you can read my list of places I’ve already seen of the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Q: What’s your favorite UNESCO site?

  • Just counted them up – I’ve been to exactly 60, but I’m lucky in that I’m from the UK and a lot of them are here. Hard to pick a favourite…maybe Goreme/Cappadocia in Turkey, or Victoria Falls in Zambia.

    Have been to some of the ones you have too – of which my favourite is probably Bruges :-) So which one is your favourite…?
